Thanksgiving Meals for 1,100 at CFAY

More than 1,100 base community members were served Thanksgiving meals between the Commodore Matthew C. Perry General Mess and CFAY MWR Single Sailor Liberty Center Thursday, November 28.

The galley staff spent two days preparing their feast. 22 turkeys, 17 baked hams, 15 ribeye roasts, and 10 pans each of everyone’s favorite traditional sides were dished up. The team came into work at 4:30 a.m. in anticipation of serving approximately 1,000 guests.

Meanwhile, the MWR staff at the Liberty Center prepared a free Thanksgiving Buffet for Yokosuka’s single and unaccompanied servicemembers. Club Alliance catered the event that served more than 150 Sailors visiting the facility located within the James D. Kelly Fleet Recreation Center.
