The American Forces Network provides television and radio services to Yokosuka base community members, both on and off base. AFN broadcasts live sports, U.S. news, popular shows and movies, among other entertainment and informational options.
Now more than 80 years old, AFN has evolved from it’s roots as the Armed Forces Radio Service to boost Soldiers’ and Marines’ morale in World War II to today’s online streaming services.

AFN has two free streaming services: AFN Go and AFN Now.
AFN Go, formerly known as AFN 360, is the broadcaster’s streaming audio. Listeners can follow popular U.S. podcasts, playlists, or tune in to The Eagle 810 online for live updates, local weather, and emergency information. AFN Go is available both in browser or may be downloaded as an app on your smartphone.

AFN Now is the broadcaster’s streaming video option. AFN Now streams popular U.S. TV shows, movies, news and information, and, maybe most importantly to some, live sports. AFN Now is available as a smartphone app, computers, popular streaming devices like Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, Google Chromecast, Roku, and Smart TVs. Please note, only one device per authorized account is able to stream live events. It may be necessary to log off one device to log in to another.

Families and Single Sailors who choose not to stream
Personnel in Military Family Housing on Main Base and Ikego, and Unaccompanied Housing, also known as the barracks, are able to watch live AFN broadcasts on their TVs brought from the U.S. or purchased at the Yokosuka Navy Exchange. Base residents may need to visit Americable to purchase a receiver, but, once connected, your TV will work just as it would as if you were in the States.
Off base residents may be able to use satellite dishes and receivers to catch live AFN broadcasts. The Navy Exchange Yokosuka does sell receivers, but is working on sourcing a new contract to sell appropriate satellite dishes.
