Pre-Registration Open for Yokosuka Spring Festival 2024

The open base event Yokosuka Spring Festival 2024 is scheduled Saturday, March 23, 2024. For Japanese citizens, foreign residents, and tourists who do not have regular base access, the City of Yokosuka is currently running a pre-registration process.

Pre-registration is now available through March 4 at 11:59 p.m. All guests who both want to attend and are not escorted by SOFA-sponsored personnel must pre-register with the City of Yokosuka.

Before pre-registering, it is highly encouraged to review the City of Yokosuka’s notices including prohibitions on pets, drones, bicycles, and other important notes.

SOFA-sponsored Personnel

SOFA-sponsored and Japanese employees with regular base access will have access to the open base festival using their DBIDS-registered CAC or authorized ID. SOFA-sponsored personnel and Japanese employees who have the privilege to escort guests may do so as any other day. SOFA-sponsored personnel and their guests will use either Carney Gate or Womble Gate to access the base.

Please contact the CFAY Visitor Control Center for more information including what documentation guests may need and how to submit pre-authorized guest pass request.

Also of note, pets are not authorized in the event area.

Note for MLC Employees

For MLC employees who do not have base access seven days a week, a policy letter will allow MLCs to enter the base through Carney Gate using their regular ID. However, it is important to note that this exemption will only apply to MLC employees. An MLC employee’s guests will need to pre-register through the City of Yokosuka and use Mikasa Gate to enter. Vendors

In support of Yokosuka Spring Festival 2024, U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka is hosting six Basic Food Handlers courses between February 23 and March 15. All employees or individuals who prepare, handle, and serve food products to the public must complete this training. This course will equip food handlers with the basic principles of food safety that must be applied when conducting a temporary food operation on the installation.
