Since 1951, the Seahawk-Umitaka has been the official newspaper of Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka produced by the command’s Public Affairs Office. Seahawk-Umitaka can be found in the U.S. Navy’s Social Media Directory and Guidance as an official command platform.

The Seahawk newspaper was first printed Jan. 14, 1951 and was in circulation for more than 60 years. By the 2010s, the publication shifted to a hybrid print and online format until finally in 2017 when the Seahawk moved entirely online and the My CFAY Weekly newsletter was born.
